It all started with the idea of Bala subrahmanyam, one of my Kanpur Mtech friends with whom i had most pytyam conversations. He is now a Research Engineer at Bloom Energy Systems, an USA based firm.
He gathered details, planned and partially financed the trek for both of us.
The trek costed us nearly ₹40k each.
The trek was planned to be on 14th Oct 2017 but has commenced on 15th.
We ordered trek gear like rods and UV protection from online. Bala has bought shoes and rain cover and socks for me. I bought a set of shoe for me at police stores at vijayawada and night pants, trek pants at BigBazar. Purchased two Trek bag at a shop near Besant Road . Also, Diamox tablets, UV protection cream , Lip balm, Power bank, full sleeve shirts and etc.
I started from vijayawada on 11th night to reach kharagpur on 12th night and to catch train to howrah midnight.
I ate good biryani at Kharagpur station that night and forgot my sweatshirt.
Waited for nearly 4 hours for the next train but couldn't figure out what i forgot at the hotel. Took my train to Howrah and reached Calcuta by 13th Oct morning, slept few hours on the waiting seats at the station dormitory.
Then a call came from Bala that he arrived at kolkata airport and waiting for the next flight to Bagdogra-Siliguri with me.
As the Yellow Cab men are not allowing Ola or Uber cabs into the premises of Station i couldn't catch a single cab for nearly one hour. Later, however I managed to walk few distance away and took Ola Share, could reach top the airport by 1200pm.
As soon as my car was reaching the airport entrance gate a terrible thing happened, a failed Terrorist intrusion into the airport. Soon, we realized it was a mock drill, but was a good experience for me.
Waited in the Lounge for some time and took plane to Bagdogra where we tried to capture few pictures of the plane after getting down but the security personnel warned us seriously. And, during the flight we captured Kanchenjunga range over the clouds using our mobile cameras.
From there on we reached an old hotel to settle for that night at Siliguri which is nearly 17km away from the airport.

That night we had a small shopping for sweaters, spices and mufflers for the handling the weather during the trek. That night our shopping was bit funny and slightly chill. Next day, morning around 11AM the car driver appointed by the travelling agent has called us for our next journey to Yuksom.
There we met our other fellow trekkers Prem, Ravi and Zenim who are basically Analysts and IT engineers hailed from hyderabad and pune. The Tata Sumo was very tightly packed with us along with lot of luggage and other grocery stuff that the driver used to transport for the travelling agents.
We journeyed along Teesta river for most of our ghat road journey. During which I felt vomiting probably due to inclining an altitude or because of the Ghat road curves. Otherwise it could have been beautiful journey time. We stopped for our Lunch at Jorethang. The preparation was very good from the point of a healthy diet. We paid 100 each. Bought paper tissue bundles and knee bands for us.
Reached Yuksom after the light has failed but meanwhile I enjoyed the travel between the hills at night. The houses very placed distantly on each of those hills along the route. Such a lovely place to imagine and light coming from those isolated houses, but at the same time such a terrible life for an metropolitan person.
Reached by 7PM to RedPanda Trekking agent office, there he welcomed us with traditional Sikkim white scarf . After paying our remaining sum we were taken to Limboo Guest home and were served classic rice and roti meals.
Next day morning our trek started with handing over our Trek bags to Mules. The passes were purchased by the Trek guide Biki (Limboo Native) to get permission into Kanchenjunga Reserved Forest.
